Since January 2022, the CTOS has been served by TFG Transfracht goods trains. Since September, the frequency of connections between Osnabrück and Hamburg and the seaports of Wilhelmshaven and Bremerhaven has even been increased from six to eight departures per week.
Up to 40,000 TEU per year are shifted from road to rail on the Hamburg-Osnabrück route alone. This not only relieves the burden on the infrastructure but is also an active contributor to fulfilling a climate-neutral supply chain. This saves up to 7,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
The transports between Osnabrück and the northern ports are exclusively 100 percent CO2-free. This is made possible by the TFGeco train product using green electricity. In addition, the CTOS itself is operated exclusively with green electricity.
The CTOS has been located on the old Osnabrück port site since the autumn 2021. The extensive area has a storage capacity of over 6,000 TEU, where customers can temporarily store their goods if required.
