About the event
The Southern African Transport Conference (SATC) is the premier annual gathering for transport professionals, researchers, and policymakers in Southern Africa. Now in its 44th year, the 2026 edition runs from 6 to 9 July at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria under the theme Developing and sustaining transport systems in an uncertain world.The conference brings together over 800 delegates from government, academia, the private sector, and civil society to address transport challenges across road, rail, maritime, aviation, and urban mobility. A dedicated rail session covers open-access implementation, rolling-stock financing, and the steps toward getting private trains running on the national network.
