The decision follows increasing demand in the region for modern and efficient rolling stock solutions.

Northrail has founded a new subsidiary, Northrail Polska Sp. z o.o., based in Warsaw, as part of its strategy to expand its footprint in Central and Eastern Europe.

The Warsaw office will serve as a regional base for leasing and asset management services, with a focus on rail vehicles for both freight and passenger operators. Northrail states that the decision aligns with its long-term market development goals and responds to growing interest in rail sector investments across Eastern Europe.

Aleksandra Jęć, who joined Northrail in March 2025, is leading sales efforts for Central and Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. She operates from Warsaw and is tasked with customer relations and business development in both regions.

The Hamburg-based company manages a portfolio of around 430 rail vehicles, including approximately 250 locomotives and 180 multiple units and passenger coaches. Northrail is also licensed under ECM I to III and offers maintenance services for leased assets. It is part of RIVE Private Investment, which focuses on transportation and energy transition projects in Europe.
