The new route will be operated using DB's Class 407 ICE 3, known for its performance on high-speed services between Germany and France, with a top speed of 320 km/h on the French LGV Est line. The train offers 444 seats, with 111 in first class.
Ticket sales for the new route will begin on October 16. Prices start at €60 for second class and €70 for first class, with seat reservations included.
This new direct service represents an expansion of DB’s and SNCF Voyageurs’ long-standing cooperation, which began in 2007. Over 32 million passengers have used the high-speed services between Germany and France, including routes connecting Frankfurt and Paris, as well as Stuttgart and Marseille. With the introduction of this new Berlin-Paris service, the number of daily connections between the two countries will rise from 24 to 26, adding over 320,000 seats annually.
The new connection is part of broader efforts to strengthen cross-border transportation, with direct trains already serving routes from Frankfurt to Bordeaux during the summer months.
