The handover took place in Kiel, where the locomotives were formally transferred to the customer as part of the ongoing rollout of Nexrail’s fleet.

Vossloh Rolling Stock has delivered five additional DE 18 diesel-electric locomotives to Nexrail Lease.

These latest units are part of a broader framework agreement signed between Nexrail and Vossloh Rolling Stock, covering up to 50 locomotives. The DE 18 units, built at Vossloh’s Kiel facility, are part of a modern multi-purpose locomotive platform equipped to meet Stage V emission standards.

Nexrail’s growing fleet includes both standard and hybrid DE 18 variants, with some configured for cross-border operations in Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. The operator has already deployed several of these units into service, with additional deliveries scheduled through 2025.
