In November 2025, the operator signed a contract for five diesel multiple-car trains. This order includes three two-car Alstom LINT41 units and two three-car TALENT trains. These vehicles are intended mainly for services in the Greater Poland and Lubusz Voivodeships, including routes such as Kostrzyn–Krzyż via Gorzów Wielkopolski and Krzyż–Piła–Chojnice.
The first LINT41 trains from this batch are expected to enter service in the second half of 2026, with the TALENT vehicles following around six months later. Before deployment, all trains will undergo inspections, repairs, and technical adaptation to Polish operational requirements, including replacement of worn components and modifications to onboard systems. Preparation work is already underway, with the first LINT41 vehicles delivered to the supplier’s facilities in Paterek.
Each of these trains is designed to carry more than 200 passengers, including at least 120 seated. Planned onboard features include air conditioning, passenger information systems, video monitoring, bicycle spaces, and accessibility equipment such as boarding ramps, wheelchair areas, and adapted toilets with baby changing facilities.
9 single-car LINT27 units for Warmia-Masuria
This purchase was followed in December 2025 by another agreement covering nine single-car LINT27 diesel multiple trains acquired from the German market. These vehicles are intended primarily for non-electrified lines in northeastern Poland, where diesel traction remains essential for regional services. The trains are scheduled for delivery in January 2026 to POLREGIO’s maintenance centre in Olsztyn, which opened earlier in the year.
The LINT27 trains will undergo servicing, inspections, and technical adaptation at the Olsztyn facility. Planned work includes retrofitting with the European Train Control System and other modifications required for operation on the Polish rail network. Each vehicle offers around 60 seats and can operate in multiple traction to adjust capacity. Entry into service is planned by the end of 2026.
Together, the two contracts cover 14 diesel trains and reflect POLREGIO’s ongoing focus on maintaining and expanding services on routes without electrification. Alongside these diesel acquisitions, the operator is also pursuing projects involving electric rolling stock for regions including Małopolska (where 14We units purchased from Cargounit in Polregio livery recently started circulation), or Świętokrzyskie, where new PESA EMUs were ordered.
