According to the company, the Szolnok location is used for both scheduled overhauls and corrective work following incidents.

European Loc Pool (ELP) continues to rely on Stadler’s maintenance facility in Szolnok, Hungary, for the overhaul of Co’Co’ bogies used in its EuroDual and Euro9000 fleets. The site functions as one of three bogie overhaul competence centres in Europe operated by Stadler and is becoming increasingly central to ELP’s long-term planning.

The cooperation aims to maintain consistent technical standards across all interventions, regardless of location. Particular attention is given to the motor bogies, which handle both load-bearing and traction functions.

These bogies are overhauled to maintain their operational parameters, including suspension systems, braking components, and traction assemblies. The objective is to ensure continued availability and reliability of the leased locomotives over extended periods.

In anticipation of rising demand for modern bogie overhauls, ELP has signalled its intent to support capacity increases and process improvements at the Hungarian facility. The company’s stated approach focuses on reducing turnaround times while maintaining consistent performance standards across its locomotive fleet.
