České dráhy anticipates that additional battery-equipped variants are planned for the coming years, opening further options for regional services.

Škoda Group delivered the final all-electric RegioPanter electric multiple unit (EMU) to České dráhy just before Christmas 2024, closing a series of 110 units composed of two-car and three-car sets.

The project consists of 46 two-car class 650.2 EMUs, 60 three-car class 640.2 EMUs, and an additional four two-car units equipped with traction batteries, which started operating in Moravian-Silesian County between Ostrava and Veřovice at the end of 2024.

The newly introduced trains replace older units, some of which had been running for several decades. The handover puts a fresh fleet into operation, featuring updated interiors and electric propulsion technology.
