The order, scheduled for delivery in 2026, is being supported through European Union funding mechanisms aimed at shifting freight transport from road to rail.

Laude Smart Intermodal has ordered two additional Vectron MS electric locomotives from Siemens Mobility, continuing the expansion of its own fleet for intermodal rail services.

The order is part of the investment framework co-financed by the European Union through the Center for EU Transport Projects (CUPT), under Poland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO). The project is officially titled "Implementation of the Time for Revolution project in the European Union through the purchase of interoperable locomotives and wagons for intermodal transport." The goal of this initiative is to strengthen intermodal rail capacity on corridors connecting Poland with Germany, the Netherlands, and Ukraine.

The two locomotives are being purchased as part of a broader investment programme reportedly exceeding PLN 1 billion (approx. EUR 230 million), which includes acquisitions of interoperable rolling stock for cross-border services.

The ordered Vectron MS locomotives will be equipped with the ETCS Baseline 3 system and will be authorized for operation in Poland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Croatia.

This delivery will expand Laude’s existing fleet of Vectron locomotives, which began with the first unit ordered in 2019 and delivered in February 2021. With this step, Laude is continuing its transition toward operating a self-controlled fleet for container and intermodal movements on cross-border corridors.
