LTG Cargo Polska has acquired 72 new pocket wagons for the transport of containers and semi-trailers. The rolling stock was ordered from Bulgarian manufacturer Kolowag, following a procurement process launched in summer 2025.
LTG Cargo Polska, a subsidiary of Lithuania’s state-owned freight operator LTG Cargo, is using the investment to increase operational capacity and shift more freight from road to rail.
The company received EUR 7 million in funding for the project from Poland’s intermodal transport aid programme, administered by the Centre for EU Transport Projects (CUPT).
LTG Cargo Polska entered the Polish market in 2020 and has since developed a presence in freight and intermodal operations. In 2024, it handled 2,329 freight trains, an increase of one-third compared to 2023 (1,715 trains).
Its fleet now includes over 350 wagons and 28 locomotives, including Siemens MS Vectrons capable of running on international corridors. The company currently employs 130 staff.
