CargoBeamer, a prominent logistics service provider in Europe specializing in the intermodal transport of non-craneable semi-trailers, has recently finalized an asset-based financing deal for 40 railcars with Flexam Invest Asset Management. Flexam Invest, a French private debt manager, is known for its specialization in asset financing. This agreement includes 24 wagons produced from CargoBeamer's internal assembly line in Erfurt, which was inaugurated in 2022.
These patented wagons, a design original to CargoBeamer, are currently operational across its railway network, particularly on routes in France, such as the Calais to Perpignan line.
CargoBeamer railcars are specifically engineered for the intermodal transportation of semi-trailers and various loading units. They feature a steel frame and a loading pallet, enabling horizontal, parallel, and automated loading and unloading at CargoBeamer terminals. This technology allows for the transportation of semi-trailers without the need for any modifications, significantly cutting carbon emissions by about 85% compared to road transport. This reduction is crucial for road freight companies aiming to meet environmental targets. The craneable loading pallet also facilitates easy handling of CargoBeamer trains at standard crane terminals or with reachstackers.
