For operation in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, the Class 240 locomotives will be equipped with the ETCS Trainguard 200 on-board unit. This is the third project that Siemens Mobility and ŽOS Vrútky have undertaken together.

ETCS Level 2 allows the locomotives to operate more efficiently and at the same time meet the European standards for interoperability.
