DB Schenker is preparing its leadership team for the future, with two international top managers set to join the Management Board. Both new members of the Management Board boast over 20 years of experience in international logistics.
Hessel Verhage is from the Netherlands and as Executive Vice President for Global Strategy and Transformation at Schenker he led the company's development. As of November 1, he will move to the Management Board where he will be responsible for the Contract Logistics Board Division in addition to his current role. Verhage has over 26 years of experience in the forwarding and logistics business. Before joining Schenker in 2019, he served as Chairman of the Management Board of STG Holdings and was responsible for eight acquisitions for the holding company in the Americas.
Jakob Wegge-Larsen, originally from Denmark, currently CFO and Senior Vice President of Ocean & Logistics at the Danish Maersk Group, has been named the new CFO by the Schenker Supervisory Board. Wegge-Larsen spent more than 20 years at three global shipping and logistics companies as CFO or a member of financial management. He will take up his new position on 1 March 2023.
Oliver Seidl, who was CFO of Schenker for six years, will leave the company on 31 December 2022. He was responsible for the successful strategic reorganization of the Finance Division and the company as a whole. Seidl now wants to turn his attention to working with young businesspeople and supporting their development.
