In a celebration of the coronation of King Charles III, DB Cargo UK has revealed a stunning new-look Class 66 locomotive (66023). The design prominently features the Union Jack and the official coronation logo, showcasing the emblems of the United Kingdom's nations - a rose, a thistle, a daffodil, and a shamrock.
The transformation of the locomotive was carried out in DB's on-site paintshop, resulting in a remarkable tribute fit for a monarch.
“The transformation of the locomotive was meticulously carried out in Toton TMD's on-site paintshop, resulting in a truly remarkable tribute fit for a monarch,” said Andrea Rossi, Chief Executive Officer.
Adding to the statement, Rossi shared: ”It is a striking addition to our fleet of liveried locomotives and I'm sure will be a source of pleasure for the rail enthusiast community."
As the newly unveiled locomotive takes to the tracks, it serves as a symbol of respect for the coronation of King Charles III, embodying the strong ties between DB Cargo UK and the Royal Family.
