The handover of new Ermewa wagons happened in Poprad, Slovakia, where Tatravagónka manufactures these new intermodal platforms. The 4-axle Sgmmnss 40’ wagons can transport 20, 30 and 40 ft containers and run with a maximum speed of 120 km/h. With a 13.54 m length, their maximum load is 73.8 tonnes.
LTG Cargo Polska will operate these wagons on the Kaunas – Duisburg and Kaunas – Pruszkow – Slawkow routes. This way, it will satisfy the growing needs of its customers. The freight operator belongs to Lithuanian-state-owned AB Lietuvos Geležinkeliai, specifically under its freight division, AB LTG Cargo.
LTG Cargo recently revived one of EU07 locomotives, decommissioned for 15 years, increasing its locomotives fleet to 27, planning to add three more locomotives to its fleet by the end of the year.
