Transdev Canada has been awarded a 10-year contract to operate and maintain exo’s commuter rail network in the Greater Montreal area, starting 1 July 2026.
The contract covers rail operations, rolling stock maintenance and associated support services, including site maintenance and equipment provision. Operations will be delivered by more than 260 employees.
The exo network comprises five lines, 52 stations and more than 225 km of track. It provides 95 daily services and connections with the Montréal metro and the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM). In 2024, the network carried more than seven million passengers.
The fleet includes 51 locomotives and 226 coaches, maintained at two depots located in Lachine and Pointe-Saint-Charles.
Transdev has operated in Canada for more than 50 years and is active in six provinces and the Northwest Territories. The company employs over 6,500 staff in the country and reports annual revenues of more than EUR 350m in Canada.
