Waberer’s acquires majority stake in GYSEV CARGO

GYSEV, the current sole owner, will retain a 30% stake following the transaction.

Waberer’s International has signed an agreement to acquire a 62.5% stake in GYSEV CARGO, with plans for a capital increase expected to raise its ownership to 70%. GYSEV, the current sole owner, will retain a 30% stake following the transaction​.

GYSEV CARGO is Hungary's second-largest rail transport service provider and operates both domestically and in Austria through its subsidiary Raaberbahn Cargo. The company manages the container terminal at the Sopron Intermodal Logistics Service Centre and will oversee operations at the intermodal container terminal in Debrecen-Macs Industrial Park​.

In 2023, GYSEV CARGO and its subsidiary achieved an EBIT of EUR 1.45 million and a profit after tax of EUR 1.32 million on a turnover of EUR 69 million.

The transaction, expected to conclude by mid-2025, remains subject to regulatory approvals in Hungary and Austria​.
