The service, which offers one to two round trips per week, has a transit time of 24 hours and a capacity of 76 TEU per train.

With a new direct connection between Serbia and Croatia, the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has expanded its network. This connection strengthens logistics between the two countries by connecting two important rail freight hubs.

The new TransFER will run between the Nelt container terminal, strategically located near Belgrade and other major industrial centers, and the Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) in Rijeka. This is the largest port in Croatia and handles more than 70% of cargo to and from Serbia. Thanks to TransFER, Rijeka is becoming increasingly important as a central transshipment point for the Serbian market. The direct connection to the Serbian freight network will enable RCG to make rail freight transport even more efficient for its customers. It will also reduce transport times. As a result, customers will be able to optimize their logistics processes and take advantage of new opportunities in the region.

TransFER Belgrade-Rijeka is operated by RCG with its traction and makes 1-2 round trips per week with a transit time of up to 24 hours. To support the intermodal flow of goods, each train has a capacity of 76 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) and carries 20, 40 and 45-foot containers. In addition to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions compared to road transport alone, TransFER offers other benefits. These include transparency and predictability: Customers benefit from additional services such as pre- and post-transport organization and regular status updates via e-mail.
