The new service connecting Prague with Berlin, Amsterdam and Brussels will start on 26 March 2024.

Less than a year after the inaugural run of a European Sleeper train from Brussels to Berlin, the Dutch-Belgian operator extends its service to Prague. On the extended route, the train will call at Dresden, Bad Schandau, Děčín and Ústí nad Labem. The night train also enables the transport of bicycles, helping to boost this type of tourism at the Czech Switzerland area and along the Elbe River.

This connection is vital for boosting the ecological transport by rail in Europe. After an overnight ride on train, passengers can change to high-speed trains in Brussels and be in Paris or London within additional two hours.

Martin Krapinec, the CEO of České dráhy says: “ČD is actively involved in the operations of night trains in Europe. Our goal is to provide Europeans with a comfortable and sustainable option for travelling across the continent, during the day, or night. In light with this vision, we have embraced a partnership with European Sleeper to establish a direct overnight link connecting Prague with Amsterdam and Brussels. This initiatiove bridges Western and Central Europe and also unlocks new travel possibilities.”

Prices for seat start at 49 eur, and 79 eur for a couchette in a shared compartment. For this service, European Sleeper secured improved rental couchette wagons.

With a plan to open one new route per year, the next target of European Sleeper will be a launch of a new route Amsterdam – Brussels – Barcelona in 2025 or 2026.
